Thanksgiving Weekend

It was a beautiful, warm(~80F), sunny 3-day weekend for us.  We couldn't ask for anything better.  Jeremy had hockey Friday evening and I got to sit and relax for a bit.  Saturday, we slept in - until about 8:30 maybe, then stayed in bed for a little bit longer contemplating what we should do.  We finally opted to get the boat out and fish.  We had gotten out twice during the week, but only for about 45 minutes one night and maybe an hour the other night.  It's getting so dark so early now it's making it difficult to do much.  We had no luck.  Jeremy pulled in a fish each night.  We started by trolling for northern with some new lures, but had no luck.  We finally found our way out past the boat landing on the other side of the river, past a bunch of islands.  Jeremy saw some fish on the depth finder so we put out a boyee and switched to other bait.  We had much better luck.  After a bit, we completely lost track of how many fish we got.  At one point, both Jeremy and I had a fish on and got them into the boat. They were nice fish!  So, we decided to keep these.  We ended up keeping one more, but let the rest go.  Jeremy got a nice bass too.

Our double walleye.  (I should have worn my swimming suit!)
Later, after cleaning up the house a bit, Lee came over to hang out with us for the night.  His neighbor from across the street showed up a little bit later and we all had fish and hash browns and stuffed ourselves.  We even got a fire going later.

Sunday, we slept in again and decided it'd be a lazy day.  We did a few things around the house and got to sit outside in our new anti-gravity chairs and enjoy our new yard in the sun.

Today is Thanksgiving.  We got to sleep in a bit again and then decided to fish today.  We went up by the beach up river and trolled slowly along the beaches.  It was a bit slower today, but we still pulled in some nice fish.  We didn't end up keeping any today, but I did get a really nice bass.  It was about 17-1/2 inches and nearly 2lb 13oz.  That was fun!  We came in and worked around the house for the rest of the afternoon.  I raked the yard(no leaves yet, but lots of pine cones and pine needles and dead grass) and pulled out everything from the vegetable garden, minus 3 pepper plants that still have lots of peppers on them.  Jeremy worked on painting the civic where there are some scratches and small rust spots starting.  It looks like we'll have one more day of nice, warm, sunny weather before the rain kicks in.
My bass.  The morning started off cool, but I smartened up and wore my suit this time once it warmed up.
