More Projects

I'm happy to say, I'm feeling soooo much better!  I ended up wearing a skirt almost all week last week and finished up my prednisone.  By Friday, I was feeling mostly normal again.  I'm still rather itchy, but I've been working out in the yard most of the week so I think I have some mosquito bites, but I still think I'm getting a few spots each day yet, but it's so hard to tell.  I have lots of small itchy spots, but at least I can function again.

I'm sad to say, I've lost my carpooler for a while.  She took one of the new finance jobs that they're having to transfer from the Toronto office since that part of AECL has been sold.  The final transaction is to take place at the end of September so she's had to go to Toronto to try to get as much training from the people there doing the job before they officially split us and we have to stand alone.  So, I'm without my carpool for about 2 months and it's really sad.  Thankfully she should be working in Deep River once she returns so we cnan continue carpooling.  Jodi's been so kind as to pick me up last week since I didn't want to drive while being on so many medications.  I almost fainted several times from the benadryl.  Plus, the truck was out of commission last week as well.  Jeremy had it jacked up and the front wheel off since it was starting to squeak so he was trying to figure out what it was.  He ended up changing the front breaks and rotars last week as well.  He added some more grease into the boot around the CV joint(I think that's what it's called) so we'll see if it stops squeaking.
Who's the spoiled one?!?!?
We ended up dog sitting last weekend as well for Magnum, Brad and Chelsea's German Shephard.  Hayde and him had a good time.  We managed to get out fishing Saturday morning as well.  I got 3 walleye and Jeremy got maybe a northern, but I missed netting it so it got off.  He then proceeded to tear apart the garage.  He took out the welding wedge wall we had in the front corner.  He wanted to build some more shelving so we can start to clean up the garage again so he can start working on the four wheeler a guy from work dropped off for him to rebuild the engine.  He worked on that most of the weekend while I worked on the gardens/yard trying to revive them.  They had only been watered twice in 3 weeks and the grass definitely needed a cut.  I also prepped the last dirt patch for grass seeding - I wanted to wait until Magnum was gone to seed it.  I got it seeded on Monday.  Of  course, once it got seeded, we had a really heavy rain storm last night and it washed everything away so I quickly tried to reseed again tonight.  I also spent 1/2 the day Sunday baking.  I picked another zucchini and managed to make 10 loaves of zucchini bread(8 from one zucchini!).  I still have 4 more to pick!
Carol/Marilynne - I think you'll just miss seeing these in full bloom!

The last thing I'll mention is I had to take Hayde to another emergency vet visit.  Sunday was her last meal she ate.  She ate 1/2 her breakfast Tuesday and last night I gave her some cat food that she ate, then Jeremy gave her a little bit of her food mixed with peanut butter(she usually LOVES peanut butter).  She ate that rather slowly, but this morning wouldn't go near her food with peanut butter.  I was getting a bit more worried so I took her in - only to get a "clean bill of health" with a watch and wait to see if she eats and if any other symptoms present themselves.  She hasn't vomited or had diahrea so it's not sooo bad, but she does need to eat!  Anyway, the vet then asked if anything had changed at home.  I said, we had dog sitted over the weekend and then said Magnum left Sunday night(of course when Hayde ate her last meal).  That triggered it.  She thought Hayde was upset by the change that Magnum left.  She's sad her playmate(boyfriend as we call it) left.  The vet said Hayde's trying to tell us we need a puppy playmate for her!  Go figure!  Anyway, I got some easy to digest canned food and she gobbled that up tonight and didn't even look up when Jeremy came home!  I hope we can start introducing her normal food back in again.

Saturday, we have several BIG loads to take to the dump!  Hopefully, that'll be it for the summer.  Jeremy finished up his shelving tonight and started filling the shelves.  I'll have to get another picture later.  And, maybe we'll get out fishing again.  Hopefully the grass will start growing in and we'll finally have a full yard of grass!  That'll be exciting!  Just under two weeks and Jeremy's mom, aunt and uncle will be here to visit!
