Getting Anxious

I'm done with work and couldn't be more excited and happy! It was a tough last month or so, but I'm finally done. Now, on to the big task of packing and cleaning up this house! It looks like it'll be at least the beginning of October before I'll start at AECL so I'm excited to have some time off with so much going on. Plus, I'm hoping I can spend the time with my family when they're here.

We enjoyed a nice warm weekend here this past weekend. Jeremy and I headed into town to pick up about a 100 samples of paint colors and to price out a gallon of paint. We're hoping we can find something close to the color our current house has. We have so many ideas for things we want to do with the house - most will have to wait until we can save up or until it warms up next spring/summer. We also borrowed Lee's mower so we could cut the grass here before it got tooo tall. I almost bought one at work, but we ended up selling the last one before I could get my hands on it. I've heard everywhere else is out of gas-powered mowers so I guess we'll have ot wait until next spring. We'll be stuck with our current manual push mower that needs the blades sharpened and readjusted. Jeremy also got his green jeep in running order (for now). I picked up a new belt and hose and he was able to get those replaced this weekend. The test will be tomorrow when he picks Lee up to drive into work! We also got out with Kharren and Alex to play tennis Saturday afternoon before heading over to their friend Rick's place for a BBQ and bonfire.

I forgot to mention Jeremy started his Wednesday night hockey in town up on base. He's waiting for the Friday night and Sunday night leagues to start in Deep River yet. I'm also going to try to get out to the running club runs on Sundays at least - as long as they have some shorter runs. I got out Sunday morning for a 5K and met a few more people. It looks like our "coach" is planning to continue the run club thru the fall and winter so I hope I can keep up with it as I slowly get into better shape.

I'm starting to clean out some of my plants as overnight temperatures have dropped and they're slowly dying out. My tomatos are finishing up and I have yet to pick a lot of my peppers. I can't wait until next year when I can FINALLY put a real garden in - into the ground!
