I feel so delayed writting this, but somehow the days are going by and before I know it I'm running late to get to bed when I keep promising myself I'll get to bed early or on-time at least. Maybe one of these days. But, I wanted to quick write something since I know a few of you have check to see what's been happening.....
I did talk to Jeremy a couple times already(suprise suprise)! It sounds like he's been having a decent time hunting with his friend, Mike in and around Madison. He wanted to get back to some of the spots he'd hunted when we lived there and around Oregon. Mike took the week off while he's there so they could get out. By Friday when I talked to him, they'd been out pheasant, duck and goose hunting. They had gotten one pheasant, three ducks and two geese I believe unless I've remembered wrong. Apparantly, at first, Milo (Mike's ~1-1/2 year old chocolate lab) wanted to chase Hayde around all the time, but they've since been worn out so it's not much of a problem anymore. Now after a week of daily hunting, Hayde is pretty pooped. I briefly talked to Michelle, Mike's wife, and she said Hayde goes down to the basement where Jeremy's sleeping to sleep and she couldn't get her to come up. He met Howard and Marilynne last week Wednesday at Samba's Barbecue Grill downtown Madison for a nice meal and to catch up. He then took Howard out grouse or pheasant hunting this week Tuesday. I guess Howard came home somewhat tired out from a day's worth of walking. I don't think they saw much so they came home empty handed. Yesterday, Jeremy and Mike took Howard out to a pheasant farm around Spring Green. They got 8 of their 9 birds. I guess there were about 5 other birds out from other previous hunters as well. Poor Hayde seemed to only last about a half hour before she slowed down. Tonight he was meeting up with Howard and Marilynne one more time for dinner before they both head up to the cabin tomorrow.
He's also been doing some shopping since there are stores galore around Madison that we can't get to anymore(Gander Mountain, Cabela's, etc) so he's tried to stock up on some supplies. He found some bootties for Hayde and a neoprene vest, but they don't seem to fit her very well. I think he was going to try to order a size larger for booties since one pair fits her back feet, but not her front. This way we'll have 2 back-ups in each size.
I on the other hand have had a very quiet week. Been running daily after work and actually getting to the gym Mon, Wed and Fri. So that's help keep my weekday evenings busy. I also started a curtain project over the weekend doing up curtains for the living room, spare bedroom, computer room and bathroom. I have yet to finish some and get them up, but when I do, I'll post some pictures. I've also worked on a pair of running pants with some reflective strips since I'm now running in the dark after work and my previous pair is made with thin fabric so I wanted something I can run thru the winter in that's warmer. I have a few more snaps to put on before I finally finish them.
Here are some pictures of Jeremy's hunting excursions with Howard, thanks to Howard and Marilynne.
