One HOT Roofing Project

We've had another extremely busy week! Monday after work, we headed back up and Lee came over to help too. We got 1/2 of the back of the house scraped along with 1/2 of the addition. We got the tar paper up as well by the time darkness hit.

Tuesday after work we got back on the roof (Lee came over again to help) and got the area shingled. I helped cut the shingles to fit and Lee helped place the shingles for Jeremy to nail. He's really glad we got the air nailer. It would have been MUCH slower and harder to do by hand.

We took Wednesday off! I had a long run to get in and Jeremy had hockey. Plus, it rained most of the evening so it worked out well. Thursday, Lee came over again to help us. We managed to scrap all the shingles on the rest of the house, addition and on the hallway to the garage. However, we ran out of tar paper with the hallway and a layer on the addition to go. Thankfully I had picked up a few large tarps. We had two on the ground to catch stuff falling so I got those picked up so we could move them to the dumpster and empty. We then moved them on the roof to cover the exposed wood.

Today, we made a trip into town to pick up some of the supplies we ran out of. Jeremy also had a retirement party to go to AND it was raining all day so we did not get up on the roof. We'll see if we can finish everything up tomorrow - assuming we have enough shingles to finish....
