Holiday Break

So far, we've been enjoying our break.  It's like an extra super duper long weekend.  I worked from home last week Friday morning since no one else was going to be in the office at work.  Jeremy did go in though.  Once he got home, we brain stormed on things we wanted to do and decided it was time for some rearranging.  Jeremy got this idea in his head to make a super gigantic bed.  So, he hauled in the extra matress we had sitting in the garage.  We took the queen sized bed out of our mstr bdrm and took the full sized bed from the spare bdrm and put that in the mstr bdrm.  We put the queen bed in the spare bdrm.  Then, we took the other full sized matress and put it next to the first full sized bed in the mstr bdrm.  So, now we have a double full sized bed in our room.  Jeremy's happy because he can sprawl while he sleeps AND Hayde and Kitty can sleep with us too and we ALL have room.  I'm probably going to have to add some more fabric to the sheets so they completely cover the new double-full bed, but for now, what we have covers the majority of the bed.
We also decided to tackle the living room.  We got things cleaned up a bit and moved the furniture, TV and plants.  That was our X-mas eve and X-mas day activities.   Margo, the woman I carpool with, ended up getting me a miniature live potted tree, so we used that as our christmas tree and I wrapped up a few gifts we had and put them underneath. Hayde enjoyed helping us unwrap presents.  We also ended up buying a wii so we got that set up while we were rearranging the living room and have been playing it.  I'd have to say it's pretty fun.  See more pictures below.

On Monday, Jeremy went with Lee to North Bay to visit Lee's brother.  So, I had the house to myself.  I warned Jeremy that I had intentions to paint the small bathroom.  He was fine with that so I set out preping it after he left.  I had to take breaks of course to play with the wii.  I got the ceiling painted (the other owners had left the ceiling gray) and got tape around the edges so the walls were ready to be painted.  Tuesday, I got the walls painted and got the trim and vanity painted.  We also went into town and picked up a few more supplies to finish our re-arranging.  We did end up getting some peel & stick vinyl flooring and I have to say it's going to look really nice.  We also got some grout so it'll look like real tiles.  Wednesday, Jeremy got the tiles down, and today he finished the grouting.  Tomorrow, we have to put the toilet back in and put the pictures/mirrors back up.  I'll post pictures later when it's all done.

On our trip into town, we also picked up some small "reading" lights for the bedroom. Jeremy got those up Wednesday - see bdrm pictures above. We also found some shelving units to put in the computer closets to try to organize our "junk" better. We've just had boxes stacked on top of each other and it's a pain when we're trying to find something. I finally got the last of my pictures up in the computer room too and it's clean!
We also found some different shelving units to "replace" Jeremy's old falling apart dresser that he had stuffed in the spare bedroom closet. Apparently this dresser dates way back to his childhood.  He had redone this closet last fall, but needed some additional shelving inplace of the dresser. So, we came home with some more shelving. He got that installed mostly Tuesday night and took the other shelving he had originally put in out.

Our last find was a christmas tree. We didn't have any decorations and everything was on clearance so we picked up a tree, some lights and some ornaments. I'd say for the last bits we managed to scrounge up, it looks pretty good. So, all-in-all, we've had a few semi-busy days amongst some relaxation time and we've gotten to sleep in(at least until 8-8:30)! Plus, the house is mostly clean!  See rearranged living room, x-mas tree and misc pictures below.
