Winter

So, after driving back in some snow and cool temps, it looks like winter is here.  It snowed some more overnight Tues and we woke up Wed to a ground covered in snow.  Thursday, it was 6F when we woke up and it was a little better Friday - 12F!

Friday, I went with Jeremy to Deep River when he played hockey.  He dropped me off at an e-coworker's place since he was having a party.  Turned out I met a few of the new people that started in my original group.  Jeremy picked me up when he was done.  Saturday, we headed out down Barron Canyon to find a spot to grouse hunt.  We went way down by the park and did just over an hour walk in the woods.  We didn't turn anything up, but saw a few deer, moose, rabbit tracks.  That's about it.  We then drove closer to the park and did another hour or more walk and again, didn't see anything but tracks.  Oh well.  Doesn't sound like it's been a good year for grouse.  We tried.  It warmed up a little bit more than the few days before, but I sure was bundled.  Today, we woke up to a layer of snow, but mostly rain and it must have froze sometime overnight.  Everything was covered in ice.  Luckly, it was 32F.  I took Hayde up to the gym to meet with running club and we managed a 10.5k slippery, wet run.  It felt good, but I was tired by the end.  I guess they closed the highway for a bit too.  Jeremy and I managed to pick up some of the house at least later on.  It's definitely winter time.....more sitting on the couch.  I have lots I want to get done, it just takes effort.
