WI, Earthquake, P90X, Marathon

Well, I don't know where the time has gone, but I realized I haven't posted in a long time.  So, here's a quick update...

Jeremy made it to Wisconsin and back safely.  He left on a Friday and ended up driving straight to the cabin, without any stops.  He was able to drive over to his sister's, Brandy, for a night too.  Sounds like a lot went on the week he was at the cabin and he was able to see his uncles, sister, brother and a friend.  I'll have to steal some pictures from Marilynne since Jeremy didn't seem to have taken any pictures.

So, I had a good 10 days to myself.  I started tapering so had a little bit, but not really, more time in my day.  I somehow managed to get up even earlier to get Hayde out for her morning walk.  Of course we ran in the evenings.  I've started running with some people from work now too on some of my off days from my other running club.  I also managed to finish the last week of P90X!!!!  We both were able to pull off 14 weeks of P90X and boy, are we in much better shape!  I hope it'll show.

So, I managed to get to the nursery a few times and pick up some plants, etc.  I spent one beautiful weekend day on the deck potting the deck plants.  I even managed to pick up a sand cherry tree to replace the tree in the front yard and got that in.  The flowers are blooming and the grass is green....just have a few bare spots to try to sprout.  I even got the lawn mower started and got the grass mowed a few times.  But, we've just got 3 full days of rain!  The strawberries are in full bloom!

So, other than that, last week we ended up having an earthquake last week Friday.  It was located on the Quebec side across from Arnprior(on the way to Ottawa).  It was about 100 km away(~60 miles).  They measured it as a 5.2 magnitude with a 4.1 magnitude aftershock.  I just looked it up again and realized there was another one this afternoon measuring 3.0...didn't feel the one today.  We sure felt the one last week....my desk started shaking.  I guess one of the other taller buildings we occupy in Deep River had to be evacuated for 2 hours while the fire department and engineers check it out for safety.  A friend of mine works there up on the 5th floor and said the building shook pretty violently for quite some time.

So, with that, I'm off tomorrow morning early to head to Ottawa.  It's race weekend!  I'm doing my marathon on Sunday morning.  I've got lots of mixed feelings about it.  I'm in probably the best shape I've ever been in, yet my comfort zone is so much slower with such a long, snowy winter and not being able to run with my running partner so I've been running with others that are slower.  Plus, it's looking like the temperatures overnight is going to get pretty cool - mid 30s.  NOT my best temps.  I'd say my optimal temperatures would be in the mid 70s....  So, we'll see how it goes.  I'm trying to remind myself, I have another run coming up and not to focus too much on this one.  I'll only have about a week to ten days to recover before I start a quick build up again.  So, with that, I'm off to bed!  I'll be with two  good friends this weekend so am looking forward to another good weekend of fun!  Jeremy'll have to hold down the house.  He's got a list of things to work on at least....somehow the list never diminishes.  I'll try to post once I get back on Sunday....pictures too hopefully.
