Accomplished Weekend!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HAYDE!!!!  Our 90-some pound enthusiastic hunter, excited fisher, devoted running partner and lovable pup turns 7 years old today!  I can't believe she's that old already....seems like yesterday she was this tiny 10lb crazy puppy-dog!

Well, again, I have lots of pictures, but not much time so I'm going to do a summary and hope to post pictures soon.  Oh, I forgot, we got one of the two stumps out from the tress we recently took down...that was a good day's project.  We also got the yard picked up and I managed to fill the hole(we had originally thought about replacing one tree, but decided it looks really nice without.  So, I got some grass seed down so hopefully it'll take.  Jeremy just picked a bowl full of fresh strawberries from the front garden.  YUMMY!!!  They are certainly juicy and sweet!  Our veggies plants are coming up now too.

So, let's see, I got up early Saturday to start my longest run yet - I headed into uncharted territory.  I made it 18k/11mi, dropped Hayde off, changed shoes and headed back out just in time to make it to the 1/2 marathon race in town I registered for.  It's a Lymphoma & Leukemia society run.  I had 2 minutes to pick up my chip and get to the starting line.  Don't worry, there were only about 15 runners so it wasn't a big deal.  Nic also ran it, but she was way ahead of me.  I managed to finish it up in 2:02 I think(I didn't really check my watch cause it was running from earlier).  Anyway, I got my medal(a really nice big one), filled my hydration pack with some more water, then headed back out.  By the time I got down the block, it started raining.  Did it rain!!!  It had sprinkled a bit before, but not like this.  I had 10k left so ran loops thru the woods.  I still felt mostly ok, but after a loop I started to feel fatigued.  I managed another 3-1/2 loops and finished up at the entrance exactly at 50km/31miles!  Whew!  What an accomplishment!  I'm so glad to be done with that...it's now on to taper time.

So, after a bit of a rest and some evening, foggy, not very lucky fishing we headed to bed hoping to get up early to get back on the river.  Nope - too foggy yet.  So, I went to running club for a short 5k cam back, cleaned up a bit and then we decided to head out.  It was still foggy, but eventually the sun started to break out and the fog lifted.  We headed up towards the Petawawa river.  And....we had luck!  We pulled in at least 15 fish....and got more than our limit(only kept our limit of 10, and threw back one really nice one I had and my very last one cause Jeremy also pulled one in at the same time and thought it got hooked badly).  So, Jeremy's cooking some up for dinner as I type .

I'm expecting my parents at the end of the week and my aunt and uncle, Eric & Terry, on Saturday.  I'm excited for their visit and hope the weather and fishing hold sup.
