Miss Match

We've gotten rain all last week and it's "cold" again. We're all sad to see that nice unseasonal weather disappear, but I guess we are in Canada! We did get one or two nicer afternoons at least. The gym was closed on Monday, so we missed playing tennis and had to go lift Tues and Thurs. I think I actually had some time this week after work! We got more of the mess picked up from renovating the bedroom so that was really nice. I can't think of anything else we did. Friday, Jeremy, Lee and I headed into town to King Burger to eat. We were told it was a good burger joint so we went to check it out. It was ok, but we figured they have BIG burgers, but they didn't. We had a good time anyway. Afterwards we came back and watched hockey. I have to say too that we were able to listen to the Badger's play in the semi-finals of the frozen four (National Championships) and listened to part of the game (they lost) Saturday for the championship.

Yesterday, I took Hayde over the Chelsea and Brads for a morning frolic. They were dog sitting their aunts dog, Otis - a ~2 yr old black lab. All three dogs got along fine and they all had a blast. We took them down the snowmobile trail along the railroad track that ends up following Paquette Road out towards the highway. We walked down the a part of the Petawawa River that's more like a lake and let them splash in the water for a bit. I forgot my camera, otherwise would have some good pictures. Jeremy, meanwhile, had to head up to Chalk River to pick up his rental car. Later in the afternoon, I headed to town to do some errands and pick up my curtain grommets and I ran into Candice and Curtis. We decided to meet them later at their place to grill. Jeremy had taken out a duck to grill, but it hadn't thawed yet so we packed up the last of his sausage and some stuff to do kabob's on and a few left over mushrooms for stuffed mushroom caps. We did a great job cooking and had a wonderful meal. They did up some chicken in a mango curry sauce and had tabouli and cuscous. Candice and I also made up some margaritas! ummmm...

Today, I worked on my curtains a bit in the morning. Then Jeremy headed out to Mississaga for a two day training course. After he left, Hayde and I got ready for a big run. Since it wasn't too warm, I decided I'd see how she'd do on my entire run. We went out for an hour and 15 minutes, then stopped back at the house. I gave her a spoonful of peanut butter for a little pick-me-up and I opened up a gel pack. I gave her some more water(I do carry my hydration pack with me with water and she does drink from it) and we headed back out. On our first loop, we headed down to the Pet point. She got to go in the water a few times and had fun splashing around for a minute. The second loop we headed in the other direction. All in all, we did a pretty good job! I took it slower than I might normally and felt pretty good the entire way. I only felt one sore spot towards the end. We both were tired by the time we finished, but I'd have to say Hayde is the most wonderful running partner! She ate a BIG bowl of food when we got back and then I let her chew on her big bone for a while. She's now sleeping...

I'm about to head over to Kharren's. She wanted to do dinner today. Both Lee and Jeremy are in Toronto, but at separate training courses. (Kharren and Lee are going thru another mess and we've had a bit of a falling out between Jeremy and I and them, but I think things are on the mend.) Below are additional pictures of my new bedroom, with finished curtains. I made a mistake and may try to fix it later, but you can't tell at least.
My tulips that have come up and are starting to bloom!
