Fall Fun

Well, I uploaded these pictures on Sunday, but never got around to start writting until now and it's almost time for another post. Ops. Can't really say we've been working on more projects, but I have gotten to the gym at least twice a week in the last two weeks! I had to include these pictures of the flower bed on the side of the house. We planted the wild flowers by seed and they've finally started blooming - just in time for Jeremy's family. I also had picked up two climbing rose bushes (on sale and not looking the best), planted them and fertilized them and they're looking much better! There are four or five buds coming on one of the bushes so hopefully they can bloom before it freezes. Yes, we've had TERRIBLE weather in the last 2 weeks - pretty much as soon as Jeremy's family left. It hasn't stopped raining and turned cold! I don't think it broke 50F today(and rained all day). I got SOAKED last week Tuesday when I met up with running club at the gym to do intervals on the track. We had to stop for about 5 minutes since there was so much lightning.
Last week Friday, we got out fishing on the river for a little bit. I think we had some success. We also got out Saturday morning. We launched the boat, then Jeremy realized he didn't have the key so had to quick run home. Thankfully, we're only about a 5 minute drive from the boat landing. We headed up river to a new spot. We started using some bottom bouncers and we've had some success with them. We've caught all types of fish. Jeremy ended up catching a fish and had a good fight with it.
Turns out it was a monster catfish! It did NOT want to come up off the bottom!
After fishing, we came home and had a good nap for a bit. I think all our work we've done over the summer is catching up and at least I feel super super tired! Saturday night, I think Jeremy headed off to hockey. He's been playing quite a bit lately and is doing some subbing for a league or two in Pembroke. His regular leagues will be starting up soon.

Sunday, we got up early and I decided to skip running club and go with Jeremy to Clayton to the game farm. We've gone to this game farm a few times before. It's south-west of Ottawa. We weren't sure how Hayde would do as we haven't work with her on any hunting/training skills recently. Once we got there and headed up to the field to get ready while the birds were being planted, she realized what we were doing and she was super excited. She wouldn't stop pacing around and sniffing the ground. We finally headed off into the fields.
We were out there for about an hour and managed to find all six pheasants. Two of them didn't flush and fly away. One of them, Hayde just had to pick up. The other ran and she chased it down and caught it. She did manage to flush five more birds. We had gotten 6, but we got one extra that was left over from the hunt the night before. It did sprinkle on us a few times while we were out.
Of course, we had to take another nap when we got home. I then got up and did a semi-tough 8 mile run. My hamstring ended up being sore again and I just felt slow and tired. I was thankful I had set up one more chiropractor appointment and it looks like my IT Band is tight and it's stressing my hamstrings by making them compensate for my IT Band. I'm continueing to do my lunges and rolling my legs with my foam roller. It's a bit painful, but feels good afterwards.

We wanted to get out fishing a few times this week, but haven't gotten the chance. It's been raining every day. We did get Hayde out briefly yesterday to work on some fetch training. Grouse opens on Monday and I think duck/goose is open already or opens soon as well. I'm also awaiting word from my parents as to their plan on their visit. They left a week ago, via the boundary waters and I don't know their plan after toinght. I'm guessing they'll arrive sometime between Saturday and Tuesday. We'll be heading to Toronto next week Friday for my marathon. I may or may not get another post in until afterwards so if not, wish me luck on Sunday the 26th! I'm doing the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. It's supposed to be a flat, fast course so hope the weather holds and is warm(I don't do well in the cold) and not too windy. I'm hoping I can hold a quick pace.

So, until next time, I'm hoping to catch up on sleep and have some time to sit down so I can let my body recover so I'm 100% in time for my race...
