Extreme Cold and Thoughts for My Sister

I guess I missed a week.  I don't think we did too much the first week to update.  We've been hitting the gym twice a week, I'm running with Hayde 6 days a week and occasionally Jeremy joins us.  I've wanted to get some sewing projects started which I finally have.  We seem to get a dump of snow about once a week.  That pretty much sums it up.

Our week this week started with Jeremy heading to Toronto on Sunday for a week long training course.  I awoke Monday morning early to get Hayde out for a run before work with Jeremy gone.  We got dressed, then I looked at the temperature and my thermometer read -24F!  Whoa!  I added some more layers, got Hayde dressed in her boots and vest I made and we headed out.  By the time we got out the door, I was sweating.  So, it was a cold, but not too bad of a run.  This is the coldest I've ever been out.  Needless to say, the rest of the week was similar, but not quite so bad.  I got Hayde out each morning (fully dressed) for a quick run before work and out for a walk after work.  I met Janice twice to hit weights at the gym.  Jeremy made it back Friday evening not feeling the best.  Must be some slight stomach bug.  This weekend, turned bitter cold once again.  We did get out for a few things.

Last night I awoke at 2am to the phone ringing.  I missed it and then decided I better get up since I heard the machine go off.  It was my mom.  I immediately called back to find out my sister's water broke.  This is not a good thing since her due date is the middle of April.  We didn't know too much at that point so I went back to bed, got up in the morning talked to my parents a few more times then met Janice for running club.  However, like I said, it got cold again.  It was -20F when I got up.  So, we bundled up really well and had a plan to do a short loop around our house so if needed, we could easily make it back.  We finished our first loop, felt good so continued on.  We added a loop thru the park and finished part of our second loop and called it quits.  We managed 9 miles!  At least it was sunny and not super windy.  Once getting showered and warmed up, I called my sister and got to talk to her for a bit.  They're just trying to hold on and hope this baby can stay put as long as possible, but either way, she'll have to have a C-section probably within the next day or so.  She's currently in her 27th week.  My parents have since packed the car and are heading out to Denver hoping to make it out there tomorrow night.  So, we're all hoping for the best right now and waiting.  I'm really hoping we get our passports back quickly so if need be I can hop on a plane to get out to Denver(or if I can make a case to be able to travel without it) since they'll probably need any extra help they can get for the next several months.
Here's our run from today:
