Well, it's finally started to get a bit warmer. It was 9 degrees when I got home from work today! It's a massive heat wave! I wanted to post this second picture of Janice and I immediately after finishing our 9 mile run Sunday in -15F temps with windchills in the -20s. She's picking me up tonight to try cross fit. Neither one of us have tried this yet so we'll see how it goes.
In the meantime, I've been anxiously awaiting word on my sister and baby. All seemed like it was going as well as can be Sunday and Monday and the baby was doing fine and as long as there wasn't any infection, my sister didn't start to go into labor and the baby doesn't get distressed, they're hoping to keep him put as long as possible. I got to talk to her for a while Monday evening which was really nice. My parents did finally arrive late Monday night. This morning, I got word that the baby's heart rate was not staying stable late Monday night so they put my sister on oxygen and hooked her up to an IV and of course started monitoring much closer. They were worried enough to start preparing (worst case) for her c-section and later this morning started her on magnesium which helps prevent cerebral palsy. However, I've since come to learn it seems as if the heart rate has stabalized again and they've taken her off the IV and have let her eat (she hadn't had anything to eat in case of surgery since last night so she said she was pretty hungry!). I hope to hear more later tonight, but am glad things look ok again for the time being. I'm glad my parents have made it out there and can help out around the house and with Jack and be there for my sister. So for now, it continues to be a watch and wait.

I can empathize with you: Mary Lynn and I were in Costa Rica, and felt SO far away! I hope your passports come back in a hurry, so when you want to get there, you don't have to go thru a song and dance to get out of Canada.
love, Mary Ann
