SIGH....!

That's about all I can say for last week.  It was a really long week.  I guess Monday was Valentine's Day and Jeremy suprised me with some really nice earrings!  Thank you Jeremy!  He and Lee had gone out shopping last weekend.  I left a bunch of chocolate hidden around the house for him and finally was able to get him an ice cream cake since DQ had been closed for a month for renovations so I had just missed getting one for his b-day.  We ended up going out to dinner with Lee and Karren et al and their neighbors from across the street.  Once we got back, I headed for my 2nd athletic therapist appointment.  She worked on me again and then showed me a whole bunch of stretches to do.  OW!  My entire middle section is super tight and sore.  My legs just don't want to stretch.  She gave me a squat challenge which means NEVER bend at the waist anymore.  Instead, I'm supposed to do a squat - even to sit in a chair!  Basically EVERYONE should be doing this and as you age, this will help keep your core stable so you don't fall and break a hip, etc.  Probably, pretty good advise.  Unfortunately, I haven't been very good at doing my homework this last week, but I'll explain more later.  I want to give it much more of my attention this week.

Tuesday, Jeremy and I went to crossfit(after I ran of course).  It was another good workout, but we're still a bit new at some of the activities so it takes us time to figure out the right moves(they do explain them, but by the time we get to them in the workout, we forget).  I think I got about an hour of work in after we got home.  Wednesday, I was asked to stay late at work for a meeting with my manager and two co-workers to review our budgets.  I didn't get home until 8pm, took Hayde for a run and waited for Jeremy to get home from hockey, but he showed up an hour later than he usually does so it was time for bed and I didn't get any work done.  Thursday, we went back to crossfit.  That was a really good endurance workout.  We did 30 box jumpers(jumping up on a bench and back down), 30 sit-ups and 4 laps around the gym and repeated that 5 times in 25 minutes.  Whew!  I got another hour of work in after we got home.

Friday, I had to give up for the most part.  I was extrememly exhausted and stressed out from work and we weren't getting anywhere.  Basically, I'm in charge of getting our budgets ready to turn in, but I'm not the one who is supposed to come up with them, just organize the information and turn it in.  However, I've been having so many issues with the person who's incharge of coming up with the $s.  Long story short, my group is disfunctional and no one wants to work with this particular person.  I've talked to my manager (along with the rest of my group) many, many times and nothing seems to change and we don't communicate with eachother.  We also just learned we are getting a new divisional manager that no one likes and it seems to me as things are just going to fall apart more than what they have already.  So, basically, I'm thinking since nothing is being done, I'm going to have to do it for myself and will be keeping my eyes open for another position.  I hate to do this, but I can't sit here and put up with this mess anymore.  We missed the deadline of getting our budgets in and I still don't have information to put together to turn in so we'll see how this week goes, but once again, it's not looking good.

So, just to end the week even better, Wednesday I notice the jeep was leaking exhuast from underneath the passenger seat.  Either there was a leak or something was loose.  I asked Jeremy to look at it, but of course he didn't so I drove it in to work Friday.  No problems.  But, on my way home, we drove over the Petawawa River bridge (there's some nasty bumps), and all the sudden something came loose!  I quickly slowed and pulled over, but all the sudden there was a huge bump.  I thought one of the tires blew!  I managed to stop and we got out(Margo and I) and sure enough the muffler had come loose - all the piping even.  I had run it over which was what that big bump was.  Somehow it was still attached somewhere.  I guess I was lucky as there were two police cars 30 feet up sitting on the side of the road and immediately, one come over to help.  They didn't want to jeep sitting there (of course it's rush hour and everyone's leaving work and there was tons of traffic backed up for HUGE accident earlier that morning by Bissett Creak that was probably just getting thru(the Hwy at been closed all day)) so they called a tow truck for me.  Margo called her son to come pick us up.  Someone from work drove by and recognized us and stopped too.  How nice!  Anyway, the tow truck came and picked it up and took it to a garage just around the corner on Petawawa Blvd.  It's still there.  We went over yesterday to look at it but they set the jeep ontop of the muffler so there's no way, we could detach it and drive it back home for Jeremy to look at.  I think it's just a clamp or something that came loose.  Of course, nothing's open over the weekend so we'll have to figure the rest of this out tomorrow.

Needless to say, I've been trying to "relax" as best I can this weekend and I'm trying not to think about everything.  I did work another 2 hours Friday night while Jeremy was at hockey, but that's all I'm doing.  I'll have to talk to my manager tomorrow(oh and to add to this, he was out all week last week).  It just seems everything's against me at work right now for one of my groups.  We did get to the gym yesterday which was a nice change.  Hayde and I went to running  club this morning and did about 5 miles.  I guess we paid the wrong place for our immigration stuff so we'll have to get that sorted out tomorrow too.  That probably will delay our passports longer.  So, basically all I can do right now is sigh....  I'm trying to work on my duvet cover so I can hopefully get that done soon.  Maybe next week I'll have some more positive things to say.  We did get up above freezing Wednesday and Thursday at least, but it was 4F this morning when I left for running club.
