Roof, Fish & Run

Friday, we bit the bullet and headed out to Home Depot after work. Jeremy's been determined to get this roof business in order and we had priced out shingles and material at a few places now so all we had to do is decide what we want and get it. So, we did! We spent a good chunk of the night there, but came home with all the material and got an order in for shingles. We have a tentative delivery date of July 9th! Whew....now it's just labor. We found a cheap roofing nailer and may try it, but will have to rent a compressor. Our other big thing is getting 90 bundles(~70-80lbs each) of shingles on top of the roof. We're planning on doing this job over some time - depending how busy the week nights are. Jeremy's guessing we can rent a trailer or use the truck to haul the old shingles/waste away. Umm.....somehow I don't see any part of this job being very easy. Plus, it will probably just be the two of us doing this. Cross your fingers, it'll go smoothly and we don't have to rip up most of the wood underneath!

So, once we got that out of the way, we spent Saturday morning cleaning up the house. I don't know how it gets destroyed so easily! In the afternoon, we decided to head out on the water. Jeremy had gone with Tony west of Deep River on Thursday out on the Ottawa. They scouted a while and come dusk, found a spot to stop and fish. They had a good night and pulled in some nice "walleye" or something of the sort. They were a bit funny colored for walleye.
We headed out to the same landing and got out around 5pm. We fished a bay they found and I snagged a small walleye in the back. We then headed up river to some other islands and tried there for a bit, but didn't have any luck. By this time, it was getting later so we headed back to the bay we had been and headed down stream. This was where Jeremy and Tony had luck. We trolled around for a bit and Jeremy landed a nice big bass. I proceeded to hook the bog before we decided it was getting late. We tried one more boggy spot and I got a bass, before we headed back to the landing. We got to see the full orange moon rise up over the land as we drove back.
Sunday, I got up and headed to running club. I've finally put a schedule together for my marathon and realized I was already behind schedule so I had Sunday's run and this next week's run to hit before I "catch-up" and feel comfortable with my training. So, I headed out for an 11 miler. Janice and I managed to get about 8.5 miles in before we got back to our meeting place. I drove home, got Hayde and headed back out for another 2.5 miles. It was a bit rough, but we kept things slow and it wasn't unbearably warm and we had a nice breeze going. Once I finished, ate and showered, I went back outside to work on the yard. Jeremy had managed to clean up the side of the garage where we piled all the "junk" from the last owners they left us and other bits and pieces of wood from some of our projects. We decided we may as well try burning what we can. He also riped apart the big green bin/chest that was sitting out there. Now, we have room to store the boat(summer)/truck(winter) along the side of the garage and have a little extra room in the driveway! Now, it's time to get ready for our trip back to Sheboygan, WI to see my parents(and sister & fam)!!! I pick up our rental car tomorrow after work so hopefully we can get it packed tomorrow night. We plan to leave work early afternoon, get home and hit the road(with Hayde)! I hope to make it just past Sudbury tomorrow before dark and then make it the rest of the way Thursday (Canada Day). Hope to see as many of you as we can that are in the area!

More and more of my daylilies are blooming!!!
