Adventures

I have to keep this short and sweet cause I'm exhausted and need to get to bed(and it's only 8pm!).  Jeremy made it home safe and sound late last night.  He had an uneventful trip back so that was good to hear and it sounds like he had a good time.  However, the camera battery died shortly after he arrived and we forgot to put in the connector cable so he was unable to charge it.  Hopefully I can share a picture or two later.

Second, I managed to get maybe about 3/4 of the kitchen painted yesterday.  I managed to pick out a color and I'm happy to say, I'm very pleased with my choice.  Again, pictures to come when it's done.  I also picked up our cabinet transformation kit so we can test out restaining the cabinets(what a job that will be) so hopefully with the kit, it'll go smoother than sanding or striping them down.  Well see.

Third, I completed my 1/2 marathon this morning.  Turned out to be rather cold and very windy(it even spitted out some rain/snow)....exactly the worst conditions for me.  Oh well, we all managed.  I went with Annalisa, our coach, and Judy another runner.  Judy did the 10k and Annalisa and I did the 1/2.  We were able to run the whole thing together so that was really nice.  We chatted the whole first 1/2, but after we turned around (it was a out and back trail run) we headed straight into the wind and we both started hurting.  It was a VERY rocky trail - like large gravel rock...not what you want to be running on and twisting your ankles on.  Plus, the trail was groved with tire tracks and was really uneven.  My feet(plantar fasciitis) flared up, my ankles and shin hurt from the rough footing, my hamstring was not happy, nor my right hip.  It was my right hip that bothered me last year, but my left hip has been bothering me lately but was good today.  Plus, once we headed into the wind, my quads started freezing and cramping up.  Annalisa stepped on a bad rock and had really bad pain for the last 1/2.  It wasn't the best of runs, that's for sure!  BUT, we managed to finish in 1 hour and 57 minutes so after all the nuisances, we faired pretty well.  We both were using this has a dedicated base-building milestone so weren't overly concerned for time.  We both hit the pool for about 20 minutes later this afternoon to loosen up our legs and that felt good afterwards.

So,  it's been a busy week/end.  Jeremy had just gotten up by the time I got home, but we're both rather pooped tonight so I think it'll be an early bedtime.
