Another normal Thursday has come and gone, however, we tried to celebrate the US Thanksgiving as best we could. While Jeremy was working all day, I spend a couple hours in the morning making cranberry sauce and stuffing. Once Jeremy got home and relaxed for a little bit, he got his remaining two pheasants prepared. He rubbed them in black pepper and garlic and stuffed them with onions and topped them
with bacon and placed apples around them. He also used his pheasant stock that he had made from the other pheasants as the liquid in the pan. Once he got this in the oven for a little bit, I started the potatoes. Before too long, Lee, Kharren and Alexander had arrived and the boys were hungry so we got out some Zucchini bread and Lee brought over some cookies Kharren had made. They also dove into the gummies and before too long they were full (before even starting to eat dinner!). Once the pheasant (after basting it with butter ever 15 min) and stuffing got out of the oven, we put in some crescent rolls and Jeremy carved up the two pheasants. Before long, we were eating. It managed to turn out really well. This is the first time I've ever put together the whole meal. I've always helped my mom
with the stuffing and the turkey, but I never had made the cranberry sauce as that was my brother's job and I guess he made it this year to take to my sister's (with my parents visiting). I had also helped occasionally with the potatoes so that wasn't too tough. We finished up with a double layer (cream cheese filling) pumpkin pie that Kharren made. She topped it with candles for Lee's birthday and he got them all blown out.
Looking thru the paper last night, I found an add for a deer game farm that apparently is in Quebec(based on the phone number), across from Pembroke. No license needed. This could be a possibility for Jeremy to get some venison in the freezer since he's missing deer season this year. He'll have to look into this.
