I got a call around 3:15am our time (1:15 am Colorado time) from my parents saying my sister believed her water just broke. Her due date is December 12, but she's been getting bigger and bigger, I think it's almost best he come early since she's so small. I talked to them again a little later and they were finally on the way to the hospital. Knowing my sister, she likes to take her time before leaving to go anywhere. Upon Jeremy getting up for work, I called them one more time to see what the status was and they got the confirmation her water did break and she was having contractions, even though she wasn't feeling much...yet. They sent her on an hour walk to help progress things. In the meantime, I was trying to sort thru the possibilities if I could catch a flight out ASAP to make it out there in time for the delivery, but we finally opted with Hayde recovering and needing more attention and with the airport 2 hours away, I would have a hard time getting out there in time so I'm trying to wait patiently to see how things go for her today and stick with my scheduled flight on Saturday morning. We had really tried to work out the best timing for me to go out there, but I know with these things, you can't count on anything! At least my parents are out there with her already so I'm sure it'll help having them as support.
Looks like it may be slow process, but they've given her drugs to help the contractions along and so far she's doing well. I think my parents were going to head back to the house to see if they could get a quick nap in. They aren't used to being up at all hours of the night!
