Weekend Excitement

I did make it home from Ottawa Thursday. I got up and looked out the window to discover clear roads so that made me feel much better. There was no snow coming down so I decided I'd get up and get ready and head back. For the most part, the hwy was clear although there were a couple spots where the wind had blown snow back onto the road. It sure was windy. My car kept blowing all over the road. Thankfully, the sun was trying to poke out of the clouds too and was mostly successful. So, I got back home, dropped my stuff off, ate and headed to the car rental place to drop of the car. Someone from work was able to pick me up there so I could get back to work.

So, this last week flew by in a whirlwind and we ended up sleeping in this morning! We headed into town for a shopping excursion to pick up supplies for the spare bedroom closet and some other bits and pieces. I did manage to forget my toiletries at the hotel and they should be sending them back. Turns out we ran into people at Home Depot that I worked. I had been trying to find time to hang out with Marnie and she happened to be working this morning and thought about making a trip up here to the Petawawa Terrace with Bean, her 1 yr old chocolate lab mix. So, we planned to meet for a doggie play date/walk. We had a good time catching up and the two dogs had a great time running around. We'll have to plan more of these play dates now that she's almost done with school for good and will have some more time to get together. I'm also hoping we can hook up with Candice (who I had met at Home Depot and now is at AECL) tonight. Her good friend is having a house warming party.

In the meantime, Jeremy's been working on the spare bedroom's closet. He took the fixtures out and painted the walls this afternoon and cut some carpet for the floor. We got some shelving to put in and will cut the metal bars we took out from the computer room closet to install in this other closet. Then hopefully come the new year, we can try to tackle the master bedroom. Jeremy's also been working on some picture collages for the living room walls. He got his pheasant up and we're still looking for a spot for the two deer mounts. Pictures to come.
