Can I say Brrrrrrr.....
I've been dreading these next couple of days as the temps have decided to drop. I have to tell this story from yesterday. I had to drop something off at the post office and thankfully, it's located just around the corner about a block and a half away, so I can easily walk. By the time I got inside, waited for two people infront of me and paid for my stamp and came back out, the winds went from 0mph to 15-20 mph or more. Plus, it had snowed all day (probably getting 3-4 inches) so all the new snow was blowing around like crazy. You could barely see at times. It was so crazy! Unfortunately, I hadn't gotten my run in yet and when I got home I check the temp and my weather center said it was 32F which wasn't too bad, but the winds made it feel like 22F. Hayde and I quickly headed out for our run and a hour and a half after I got home from the post office, the temperature was 10F feeling like -1F! Talk about a cold front coming in. This morning when I got up (and made Jeremy breakfast since it's his birthday) my weather center said it was -16F with winds making it feel like -22F. I guess it's gotten down to -30 C the last two nights (~-22F). Jeremy's truck did manage to start and he headed off to work this morning after staying at home the last two days with his bad cold. We'll see how long he lasts today. He's still feeling under the weather. Poor guy feeling like this on his birthday with subzero temperatures...
I'm glad I had managed to do another quick project of making myself
some running mitts. I use them on these super cold days overtop a pair of gloves and then I stick my hands inside my jacket sleeve and put the mits on top to act like an end to my jacket and as another layer. So far, my hands have managed to stay warm. I might have to make another pair for a liner if we have more super cold (below zero) temps. I'm also hoping I can finish up Kharren's project I was helping her with. She started making a romper for her baby and has two stitches left and the little hat to make, but I don't see her having time before her baby arrives to finish so I decided I'd finish it for her and give it back to her at her shower on Sat. After talking to my sister last night, it sounds like little Jack's growing and might fit into my outfits I made him soon. I hope so.
Well, I must sign off and go thru our permanent resident applications. Turns out since we've waited to mail this in, all the forms have changed so I printed out the new 56 page instruction book and re-typed and printed all the forms again. I just need to read thru the instructions to make sure we have everything completed correctly and notorized correctly and that we have all our 100+ documents! Ok, that's a bit of an exageration, but it's a lot of documents!
