I'll have to try to make this as short as possible and fill in the highlights since there's been so much going on.
We had a really nice trip to Florida for a week. Flights went well and all were on time. Nathan ey(Jeremy's brother) picked us up along with his girlfriend, Amee. We headed north about an hour to Jeremy's mom's place. It was late, so we hung out for a bit, then went to bed. The next day, Wednesday, we spent relaxing. Jeremy's grandma came over to visit for a bit and then his aunt and uncle, Marilynne and Howard, stopped over. They've been in Florida for a good chunck of the winter and have been visiting Jeremy's mom recently. I was so excited to see the sun and feel some warm temperatures, I made everyone sit outside as much as possible. Thursday, Nathan, Amee, Jeremy and I went out in the morning and did some mini golfing and hit the batting cages. Later in the evening, we headed back to Tampa since Nathan had a hockey game to play so we watched him. Friday, Carol, Howard and Marilynne met us at the zoo. We spent most of the day there and then went out for dinner and then out to a winery for some wine tasting. Saturday, Nathan, Amee, Jeremy and I went to the science museum for the day. We got to go to the IMax and planetarium too. Then, we headed back to Carol's place. Sunday, we decided we had to hit the beach so we eventually made it there, finally found a parking spot and laid on the beach! Boy, was it windy! We didn't stay too long since we were getting sand EVERYWHERE. Monday, it rained, but that was ok because Jeremy had wanted to go visit his grandma again and look at some of her old pictures. Of course we say Marilynne and Howard again too. We played wii with them in the evening. Needless to say, I came down with a bad cold again so the trip home wasn't too pleasant as we got into the air and back down. My one ear hurt pretty bad.
On our stop back in Ottawa, we got thru customs and immediately headed to the immigration desk. We handed over the paper work we had recieved and waited for the guy to process it. He hesitated a few minutes then told us they did our paper work incorrectly. Somehow they had printed it with a non-existant number on it. So, he had to re-do Jeremy's paper work, take another picture and reprint it. He added me on it and stapled the original paper work with it. So, we'll be recieving our permanent resident cards in the mail in 6-8 weeks. He took out our work permits and scratched out our temperary visa. We finally made it home and headed to work the next day. Jeremy picked Hayde up in the morning and Margo dropped Stewart off.
We managed to get our taxes signed. Somehow we really didn't get anything back and ended up negative after we paid our tax guy. Oh well. Friday, Jeremy started his hockey tournament and played two games in the afternoon. Byron (we had played tennis with him before he moved away)came up for it and stayed with us Friday night. They played two more games Saturday and managed to only win one out of the four games. In the meantime, I went to a nutrition seminar that my running club coach had put together Saturday. In the afternoon, we did body assessments and then all met up for dinner. So, it was a busy weekend.
Sunday afternoon, I was picked up and headed down to Kincardine, ON along with one of my work groups. We were going to one of our offsite facilities at the Bruce Power site. It's a 7 hour car ride and it's located along Lake Huron. Of course, we ran into a snow storm the last two hours. This place is cursed since everytime some one in our group travels here (once a month) it snows really badly. We had a branch meeting Monday and my manager had wanted all of us to be together so it was nice to finally meet the other half of our group. I was only going to stay for a day, but it turns out I needed to stay for the week with 3 other guys from my group. The fourth went back today, but the rest of us will head back on Friday
I just heard from Jeremy that it looks like he will be going to France this spring, I think for a conference. He had wanted to get out of it, but I don't think he will. I had mentioned that it'd be nice if I could go with him if he does go, but just found out he's going at the beginning of May (April 30 - May 6 or 7th). So, it looks like I'll have to make a very quick decision if I want to go with him or not. I'll have to get back on the 6th, to turn around and get back on a plane to go out to my sisters on the 7th and miss two weeks of work in a row.
I'm hoping by the time I get home on Friday, my cold will be gone. However, I'm getting more and more concerned because I can not get my hip better. It seems to be getting worse and I've stopped running now for two weeks and took the two weeks before that mostly off. It's hurting me just sitting now and I think walking is really irritating it. I've talked briefly to our running club coach who is also dealing with a hip injury and I don't think it's as serious as a stress fracture, but I'm starting to wonder if I may have a tear in a muscle/legament/tendon or something like that. I'm trying to ride the bike at my hotel this week to see if I can do that. So far, it doesn't seem to be making it worse at least. Well, that's about it. I'll try to post lorida pictures soon. I have them with me, but I want to get down to the exercise room before it gets too late tonight and still try to call Jeremy.
