Stuff

We had a great weekend weather wise and it looks like it'll stay nice until the end of the week when we might dip below zero Celsius just a little bit, but only by a few degrees. Tomorrow may even get up to 55F!

We ended up calling about our taxes Saturday morning and it turned out the person I talked to last week didn't know ANYTHING and we're going to have to sift thru all sorts of stuff and try to talk to as many people as we can to make sure we get our taxes done correctly (and hopefully on time). We may have to drive into Ottawa to find someone that can do Jeremy's US AND Canadian taxes, but they're booked solid so they'll probably end up being late if we go this route. Otherwise, it looks like there's someone in Pembroke that can do JUST Canadian taxes and we'll both have to have our US taxes completed before we can work on the Canadian taxes. Also, looks like we'll both have to file 1/2 year in US and 1/2 yr in Canada (even though I didn't have a job in Canada) since we're common-law and will have to file Canadian taxes jointly which means our US taxes will go up individually. Thankfully, my friends mom does taxes and has done mine for the past several years and is doing my US taxes and can assist us or give us tips, but she can't do/doesn't know about Canadian taxes.

Saturday we made a quick trip to Home Hardware for some 2 x 4's. Jeremy's going to try working on his speakers, but needed saw horses since his wood boards are so big. Unfortunately, he got the wood and by the time he was mostly done building one sawhorse, he realized he needs TWO horses and only had wood for one. Ops.

We also decided to try making the pizza again to see if we could perfect it anymore. After several hours of work, we came out with an absolutely gorgeous home-make, 100% from scratch deep dish pizza. YUM! We put some hot peppers, bacon, pepperoni, onions, tomatoes and cheese on it. I can't wait for lunch so I can eat my last two pieces.

Yesterday, we kept it easy and while I ran, Jeremy worked on cutting the boards for his speakers. I took Hayde with me (~80%) unleashed for just over 7 miles. She's been doing great yet unleashed and now that more and more sidewalk is available, I feel better leaving her off on slightly busier streets(as long as traffic isn't too busy and there aren't too many people/dogs out walking). I finished up my last ~8 myself and the last 4-5 miles were pretty tough, but I managed to finally find a decent pace so the last 2 were manageable. Whew. It was warm enough I only had on my light pants and a long sleeve t-shirt. I carried my hydration pack with a little bit of water for Hayde and I and it wasn't too bad, but I think I'd like someone with me from now on with Gatorade. 5-7 more miles to add on and tackle before I can taper!
