I ment to post this yesterday after I heard from Jeremy. He sent me an email letting me know he made it safe and sound to Tokyo. He arrived between 6pm and 7pm Tokyo time Saturday evening, 6am Saturday morning my time. So, after leaving at 3:30 am from our house, it took him 26-1/2 hours. He said he didn't get any sleep, but he wasn't tired at the time he wrote the email, due to too many movies to watch and uncomfortable seats. Sounded like they went out to the hotspot of downtown Tokyo for a bit before heading to bed. Today they were going to do some sight seeing before hitting the conference for 3 days, then take a day to tour a reactor and spend one more day sight seeing before returning. He mentioned his hotel room is about the size of our kitchen - long and narrow and he can't stand up in the box of a bathroom! It also turns out he needs a three-prong adapter of which we had gone to Pembroke for last week and the sales guy told us he didn't need. We'll see if he's able to send any more emails before his hour of computer power runs out or if he's able to find an adapter there. I hope so. I'm off to do some cleaning today and get my 10-13 miles in. It's dropped into the mid to lower 30's overnight - I really hope it warms up! I did finish Hayde's new bed so hopefully Kharren can bring her camera over and I can get a picture to post. It turned out pretty well. I put snaps on the bumpers so it can be removed if needed. I'm also awaiting my parent's arrival sometime Wednesday evening. It'll be really nice having them here for a few days while Jeremy's gone. They'll stay until my marathon on the 24th.

New update - I got a new email this morning and he got 5 hours of sleep and still doesn't feel too tired. I'm sure it'll catch up with him shortly. He and Nithy traveled around (Sunday) and did some sight seeing. He didn't say what they saw or did, but found it fun for a bit then realized he'd rather not do touristy stuff, but see things the way they really are - be more immersed. Later in the evening, they had a banquet. He met the guy he interviewed with at Argonne and talked to him a bit as well as a Japanese guy he met in Madison. I guess he'd be interested in the research they're doing at Argonne. Why do I think he'll return and come back to second guessing our decision to come HERE?
That's about it. I got a slightly shorter run in today as my hamstrings were hurting - like I had pulled something slightly so I ended up with just short of 9 miles. I can't do any more endurance, so I figured I'd stop early and make sure my body can recover. I'm off to more training tomorrow morning at Home Depot!
