Not too much is new, but I wanted to quick post something since I have time. I have to work 4 hrs today so it's not too bad. However, I'm going to see how this week goes and if it continues to go as it has, I may just quit. I'm realizing all the time and energy I'm putting into this and not getting much out of is not really worth it. They're completely abusing their employees (in my mind).
On to a better note, I managed to complete my 1st of two 20-milers yesterday. It only got slightly above 32F and was really windy - guessing 20-30mph headwinds coming straight off the Ottawa River. I had a couple of good stretches headed straight into the wind - not fun, but I did it - in 3 hrs, 10 min. Not as fast as I had hoped, but still within decent time. I took Hayde out with me for the first 8 miles and then did a 9-mile loop on my own. Jeremy came and met me with my gatorade every 20 minutes, thankfully, on my 9-mile loop. I did carry my hydration pack with a small amount of water in it the entire way too. Stopped back home and picked Hayde up for another 3 miles and we headed over to Lee and Kharrens to stop and say hi before heading back and finishing up. I'd have to say Hayde's been such a great partner - keeping me going and pushing me along. I think she has fun - she gets excited every time I start getting changed into my running clothes and waits by the door. I'm able to keep her completely off leash so she can putz around and sniff stuff, but I make sure she doesn't get too far from me and she's really good about staying on the sidewalk or on lawns - now that they're snow-free.
Our new snowfall is just about gone and hopefully by the end of this week, we'll only have real small piles left. Somehow Sundays seem to alway be the coldest day of the week, but it looks like all week, we should be in the double digits, 10C-14C and sunny!
Jeremy's been working on his speakers a bit and the main boxes are put together. We've also been spending time with Lee and Kharren. We made another pizza Friday night and went over to their house and opened up some of our wine. yum. Oh, Dolly, our basement neighbors puppy, got hit by a car on Saturday. She's ok, just bruised and scratched and a bit timid now. Maybe she'll learn not to run away now....
Must get Hayde out for a walk before I have to get to work. Get to start an hour late today - Easter Monday. Banks and schools are closed, but Jeremy has to put in a full day.
