The weekend turned out to be pretty nice. I worked Saturday for 4 hours and not one person came in. It made for a long slow 4 hours. Meanwhile, Jeremy went into town and got some 2x4's (pretreated) for a picnic table and took Hayde with and walked around some of the car lots looking to see what they had. Looks like we can only get a loan for the length of time that our work permits are good for (ie 2-1/2yrs). Later, Kharren, Khartem, Jeremy and I went off to the Petawawa Civic Center (hockey rink) and went to the ShowCase 2009 (home, consumer and leisure show). We ended up spending 2 hours walking around looking at all the exhibitors. We did find someone selling really expensive titanium pots and pans and a vendor selling "organic" beer bread! (We've been missing the WI Beer Bread we used to stock up on.) Jeremy also found someone from the Ottawa area for fishing and hunting. Later, Kharren and Lee came over and Kharren made dinner for us and we popped open some more of our wine. I'd have to say anyone interested in tasting it better come up ASAP - as it's disappearing really quickly!
Sunday, turned out to be a gorgeous day! Sunny and much warmer than they originally predicted. It eventually got into the low 60s F. We putzed around a bit and Jeremy began the assembling of the picnic table. Before long, the bit he was using got stripped from the square tipped screws they use here. So, we headed back into town and got a few new tips and I picked up some plant seeds and some small pots to start the seeds. Once we got back, I planted a few seeds, and then headed out for my run. I took Hayde on my 1st 8-mile loop. I even decided to be brave and wear shorts (I have trouble with shorts for anything under 60F - my muscles don't warm up). This may have been a mistake as on my 7-mile 2nd loop, my muscles tightened up really bad and I had a lot of trouble continuing. Jeremy did come out and meet me 3 times with my gatorade on my 2nd loop. Somehow, I think I still managed to get a bit dehydrated (I did have my hydration pack the whole time too) as my stomach was a bit uneasy afterwards for the rest of the night. Jeremy got the grill going again and he cooked one of his homemade brats and a veggie burger for me. Amanda (our basement neighbor) come up with the movie Marley and Me so we watched that last night too. Jeremy and I had both read the book the other x-mas and I had wanted to see the movie. They did a decent job, but it's never as good as the book.

Today, I have to finish my cover letter so I can get my resume sent in. I found a job posting at AECL - very similar to what I had been doing at Kraft, but a step above, that I want to apply for. Jeremy talked to a guy at AECL about it and he said to get it in too. I also need to call back Home Depot since the store manager called me on Friday when I was at work. I'm hoping it's a good sign and I'll need to set up a time to meet with her. Wish me luck as I sincerely hope one or both of these may be an option. I also am happy that I have the day off so I can watch the Boston Marathon coverage on TV today and of course get a LOT of housecleaning done and maybe start a new batch of from-scratch wine. I have today and tomorrow off and hopefully by the end of the week or so I can/will quit. I did finally get both pay stubs and I found out I get paid for my 1/2 hr lunches at least and they pay out a small percentage for "vacation" days to make up for any days that I would take off (unpaid).
