It's been a busy, crazy week. Jeremy's been in Toronto since Tuesday so I've had the house, truck and all the responsibilities. He'll be back late tonight. He took Lee with him for training for work. Since Lee was going to be gone, Kharren decided to head to her parents for the week so it has been pretty lonely. Thankfully our neighbors have been around so I've had someone around to talk to and we've gotten to share our weeks worth of news with eachother.
To begin, I went to the gym Tuesday in the afternoon since I didn't have to wait for Jeremy to get home. Just as I was leaving I ran into the coach of our running club. I talk to her for a few minutes and she reminded me that there was a talk going on later that evening and said she hoped to see me there. I debated going but in the end it did work out. I came home, put my bike on it's trainer and bike at home for over an hour. Poor Hayde's been suffering on lack of exercise this week. Turned out I had just enough time to make it to the talk. It was given by a local chiropractor that specialized in athletics. She has a background in kinesiology and ended up in chiropractory. Anyway, she talked about running mechanics and injuries and proper footwear. I knew most of what she was talking about, but I did learn a few new things. I hadn't realized I should be working my quads/hamstrings in a 1:2 ratio since the hamstrings are that much weaker than quads. It was nice since there were only four other people that showed so it was much more personalized and we got to ask her some personal questions about injuries that we have. She does ART which is active release therapy which works out the soft muscle tissues. I think this is exactly what I'm in need of and am looking for in a message. I have to remember to make an appointment with someone (with Jeremy's benefits we both get up to $400 in free massages) and I'm hoping we're covered to see a chiropractor. She seems very knowledgeable and I never would have guessed a chiropractor has all this athletic knowledge. She's giving another talk next week on core strengthening I'm hoping I can make it too. She also has studied abdominal muscles and pregnancy which I think would be kinda interesting as almost all my friends have just had babies and a few have asked me what I thought would be good abdominal exercises.
My next exciting news is that I went yesterday after work back to Home Depot to meet with the store manager. He offered me a position on the spot yesterday and I accepted. I'll be making $1.05 more than what I'm currently making and I should be guaranteed lunch and breaks and I did fill out all the paperwork for payroll, etc yesterday too. Sounds much better than where I'm at now. Whew! I plan on quitting today and I can't be more happy. I'll be working in the garden center which suits me just fine as I've been really anxious to get some plants in the house and some vegetables and herbs planted for this summer. Then we can go to town cooking!!! Looks like I'll be in training all weekend with Home Depot and this is our first days with temps in the 20s!!! 26/27C (mid 70sF)this weekend.... :( Oh well. Just not sure how my poor bruised feet are going to manage as we're required to wear steel toed boots and I'll be standing all shift. I thought they were getting better, but they're feeling a bit worse the last couple of days.
I'm anxious for Jeremy to get home tonight to fill him in as he hasn't turned on his cell since he left! We have another batch of wine to start that I just haven't had the energy to do. Jeremy's back off to Toronto on Sunday for another meeting, but he should be home late Monday so it's a short trip. He'll be off to Tokyo in two weeks.
