Sometimes I wish life were a little easier and planned out, but I guess this is what makes for an adventure!
I did get my bike ready and got out for a nice hour plus ride on Wednesday inplace of my run workout. It was gorgeous out. I put my bike shorts on under my running tights and had a long sleeve t-shirt on with my blaze yellow vest and headed straight out of town on our road. I ended up biking out to Black Bay. It was so peaceful, I had forgotten how much I love biking like this. Just listened to the wind blowing in my ears and a few birds. Only saw a handful of cars. These back roads really remind me of the area up by my parents cabin so it felt a bit weird biking around.

I had found out in the last week that the running club had started up again. I had inquired about it back in October but heard nothing until now. There's a woman running it and she does all sorts of coaching classes, but also does a free Group Run Club that meets Thursday evening and Sat mornings. I joined them yesterday. There were about 9 of us, 4 females including the coach. I talked to about half of them a bit and it looks like some are just out for exercise, but have done some racing in the past and one guy at least is possibly going to do the Ottawa marathon as well. For some reason, he reminds me so much of the "boss" I worked with at Kraft who I still email on occasion about running. They also gave me the name of a military guy that can do some testing - ie blood lactate and VO2max testing. Dad, you'll know what I mean. However, he's been posted and is going to be leaving Petawawa in July. I've always been really curious to see how I'd measure on some of these tests. The woman seems very knowledgable so I'm excited to have met her and hopefully can learn a little from her. We ended up doing a hill workout so I'll have to see how things fair in the next month or so as Thurs and Sat are my super easy days and as my legs sit feeling a bit fatigued, I'm not sure I want to be doing some of these workouts on these days, but I'll see.
Kharren and I walked up to the hockey arena on base on Wednesday night to watch Lee and Jeremy play. We only ended up catching the last 10 minutes or so, but here are a couple pictures.

My last dilema is what to do about my job. I absolutely hate it and it's not worth the little money I'm making, BUT we do need any little bit of extra money and we're in dire need of finding a new vehicle so any bit helps. My sister wants me to quit today, but I'm debating about hanging on for a few more days in hopes of hearing back from Home Depot. I did finally get a schedule last night for the next two weeks and for now - after today - I should be in the office here at least. I did bike in yesterday so that was nice. Took me, at tops, 3 minutes.
