KO Lodge

Last night Jeremy, Lee, Kharren and I went to check out the K-O Lodge. It's a resort/restaurant outside of Deep River. Jeremy had tried to go with his boss when we was up interviewing but the place wasn't open for the season yet. It's fairly far out and is inaccessible during the winter. It was a really nice setting on a lake out in the woods. There were some small cabins and the restaurant had nice wood paneling, along with all sorts of taxidermied animals and fish. They didn't have much for a vegetarian, but I found some soup and Jeremy tried the duck.

Earlier in the morning, we took Hayde for a walk in the neighborhood beyond Petawawa Ave in search of some more trails. I had found a park in this area before and came back and realized the trail starts at the back of the park. It wasn't far before we came to a fenced in clearing and lost the trail, but found what must be a 4-wheeler trail. We took that for about 20 min before deciding to turn around because at that point we didn't know if this was part of the trail the map showed or not. Turns out it's not and we were going west instead of south. It was a nice walk in the woods though.

In the afternoon I worked on my picture frames some more and they're almost done. I just ordered some pictures to put in them and am working on the last two pictures since I can't order anything as a 3x5, I'm kinda stumped what to do with the last two pictures.

Saturday night, we finished building the bookcase. I'll have to work on sanding it and staining it. It turned out really well, minus one small ops which hopefully isn't too noticable since Jeremy decided to lengthen it from the pattern, but forgot as he cut one board.

Today, I decided to try taking Hayde for a run to see if we could find the library(to return the movie we got) thru the woods behind our neighborhood. There are a few paths shown on our map, but when Jeremy and I had explored it the other day, there are a lot more paths than what the map showed and we tried a few and came out where we weren't expecting. I did manage to find the right trail to pop out about 2 blocks from the library which turned out to be a perfect 20 min run. Oh, looks like this week will be a bit warmer than last week with highs in the teens (around 60F) and it's sunny out - perfect fall weather! I'm off to sand...
